Oil on the beach in Gulf Shores...

Fairhope 4th of July 2010

We had such a wonderful time! There are no better hosts than the Mauritsons and that Fairhope really knows how to put on a beautiful 4th of July concert and firework display. We ate and ate and ate, we swam at the pool, walked at the beach, we shopped for antiques (okay, I shopped for antiques), we went to the bookstore, we went to the water park in Gulf Shores, we had ice cream at Mr. Gene's Beans and skinny frenchy's at the coffee loft and did all the other fun stuff in Fairhope! We even went to alligator alley in Daphne to check out the gators where we ran into a guy who told us all about how they eat people's dogs and cats. :( Sadly, we also saw the oil on the beach in Gulf Shores and how deserted that area was; it's really devastating to the community and we hope they figure that mess out soon.

Band Camp 2010

Well, it was Patrick's first time at band camp and he did a stellar job. I think he played 5 or 6 different percussion instruments during the final concert. Maggie of course has 'been there, done that', but she had a great time catching up with friends who go to other middle schools. They had a good time and I don't think Maggie pretended she didn't know Patrick (not much at least.) :)
